Angry Bear is a four-piece band based in Seoul, South Korea. The band’s style of music fits loosely within the alternative rock genre and mixes elements of both British and American rock owing to their members’ origins. The band built up their reputation by playing regularly in Hongdae’s indie clubs, and in 2010 they released their debut album, ‘Gom’. Following its success, Angry Bear went on to write, record and produce their follow-up album (‘II’) in 2011/12 which received positive reviews in the indie music press in Seoul. The band also shot a promotional music video for their single ‘No Mind’. The majority of 2012 was spent showcasing their second album in all the major cities of Korea, along with several music festival appearances, most notably Green Groove Festival (Boryeong), Jarasum International Jazz Festival and Gyeongpodae International Rock Festival in Gangneung. Angry Bear also embarked upon a mini tour of Tokyo, Japan, and were hand-picked to support the international acts, The Two Gallants, and Jeffrey Lewis when they toured Korea. 2013 will see Angry Bear release their third album which will include their most challenging and accomplished songs to date.
