Although primarily influenced by 60’s and 70’s rock music, Idiotape rip up the script and redefine the genre to create something truly unique. Formed in 2010, Idiotape have been making waves across the globe with their live mix of analog synthesizers and power drumming. Live, their sound and energy delights even the most hardcore of mosh pit enthusiasts at big rock festivals, yet at the same time, they also get the big city club goers off their feet and dancing at EDM clubs. It’s simply not possible to attend an Idiotape show without being swept into a sea of people dancing or moshing to their unique blend of electronic rock/metal/EDM.
Idiotape quickly established themselves as one of the most successful live acts to have ever come out of Korea. To date they have performed at all the big festivals throughout Korea as well as making appearances at some of the biggest events in the world, including Glastonbury (UK), Transmusicales (France) and Reeperbahn (Germany). Back at home, they have won several awards for their music, including best dance and electronic album at the Korean Music Awards.
Usually, once a band reaches the level Idiotape have, you simply don’t get the opportunity to see them in an intimate setting anymore. Their large-scale productions mean it is festival stages or big concert halls only. After a recent trip to Germany, where Idiotape played in a club so small they could not all fit on the stage, the band decided they wanted to do something special for their fans and return to their roots in Hongdae, where it all started for them. As a result, DOINDIE, in collaboration with their label Highgrnd have set up a special one-off show in one of Seoul’s best small live clubs.
This really is an opportunity not to be missed; one of Korea’s finest and most successful live bands playing in the intimate setting of Club FF. It’s going to be loud, hot and sweaty--all the perfect ingredients for a live show!
We can’t wait! See you down front.
